George Clarke discovers what is really happening in the Great British shed with the Shed of the Year competition - from an intricate shell grotto inside a war bunker to a disco shed that plays the biggest festivals in the country. There's also a Dad's Army enthusiast who's built an entire museum full of memorabilia and a man who's converted his shed into a 1970s amusement arcade. George travels the length and breadth of the British Isles with his Amazing Spaces team of master craftsman Will Hardie, designer Max McMurdo and architect Laura Jane Clarke. At the end of the series the very best design will be crowned Shed of the Year. Cabins, Summerhouses & Not a Shed?

This year's Shed Olympics kicks off with the glorious Cabins and Summerhouses category - including a mushroom-shaped shed and the #Girlshed, which is a festival of pink and turquoise, in the style of an LA pool pad. Each shed is hoping to win the public vote and book their place in the grand final. After last years' online storm, a brand new category has been created - called Not a Shed? This category celebrates some of the 75 different varieties of shed out there and embodies the boundary-pushing passion and ingenuity that Shed of the Year is all about.

Pubs and Entertainment & Unexpected Sheds

Round 2 sees George and the judges turn their attention to 'Pubs and Entertainment' and 'Unexpected' Sheds. 'Pubs and Entertainment' is the only place on earth you'll see a West Country whisky den, go head-to-head with an immaculate reproduction of Doctor Who's Tardis. In the 'Unexpected Category', there's a life-saving hedgehog rescue centre, competing with a potentially soul-saving shed, which is also the smallest cathedral in the UK.

The featured Workshops and Studios include a shed that was used to write a multi-million bestselling trilogy and a space in Wales where the owner creates life-changing limbs for children from around the world.

Eco, Budget and the Winner

The grand final is here. After travelling the length and breadth of the country, the show looking for the most imaginative and outrageous sheds, will announce the winner of Shed of the Year 2017. First, though, is the Eco category, with a glorious woodland stargazer in the Scottish Highlands up against an elaborate hobbit house. There's also the Budget category, with a shed that's a fully functioning home made for just Ăş1000, versus a stunning shack built from off cuts and discards for less than Ăş300. Later, George Clarke and the judges must decide which of the eight finalists will receive the overall award as Shed of the Year 2017.
