Beschreibung
Jefferson Drum, also known as The Pen and the Quill, is an American Western television series starring Jeff Richards that aired on the NBC network from April 25 to December 11, 1958. This thirty-minute Western series was about the crusading editor of a newspaper called "The Star" in a tough and tumble gold-mining town, Jubilee, during the 1850s. Drum proved he could aim a Colt revolver as well as an editorial at the towns lawless elements. A courageous man who stood beside the sheriff in protecting the citizens of the tough Western community, Drum used his "power of the press" to fight corruption and crooked politicians. Lucius Coin, Drum's printer, and Big Ed the bartender were also ready to help when trouble came calling, Jefferson Drum was a widower and attempted to raise his young son Joey, who could be seen playing around the newspaper office while dad was working.
