Shot against the back drop of the unique natural beauty and culture of the West of Ireland, over the course of six half hour episodes we follow the lives of families and individuals who have moved or are in the process of moving to the west of Ireland. From various parts of Ireland and from more far flung places such as Australia, Texas and Austria, presenter Mary Kennedy meets the people in their new homes and explores the reasons why they made the decision to make a major life change and "Move West".

More families who have moved - or are in the process of moving - to the west of Ireland. Dr Lisa Guthrie has spent much of her life working away from her native Ballina. Former doctor with the Mayo senior football team, she is a consultant in emergency medicine in Mayo University Hospital and a physician with the Lincolnshire and Nottingham Air Ambulance. She and her family have decided to settle back west. Plus, Sean and Louise Burnett, who bought their house in Kilmovee around 2014.Ă‚Â

Lisa Gifford, daughter Gypsy Gifford and Gypsy's partner Richelle South bought a farm in Drumcong, they run Leitrim Hill Creamery. Principal CaitrÄ‚Âona Nic Chonchradha moved to Carrick-on-Shannon from Dublin with a young family in 2004. Family was at the heart of Monique Carroll's decision to move to Leitrim from South Africa.
