Jedes Team beginnt die Survival-Challenge in Südafrika an einem anderen Landepunkt. Um 35 Tage lang in der abgelegenen, trostlosen Einöde zu überleben, müssen die Männer und Frauen zurückgelassene Gegenstände zu nützlichen Werkzeugen umfunktionieren. Steven, Alexa und Frank wollen eine Mine erkunden. Doch dabei ist Vorsicht geboten. Denn darin könnten sie unverhofft auf wilde Tiere stoßen, die dort Schutz vor der sengenden Sonne suchen. Und Waz, Teal und Russell machen sich sechs Kilometer weiter östlich auf den Weg zu einem verlassenen Gebäude.
