Part One

Jon Snow travels the world visiting communities where residents are living longer and healthier lives, with lower rates of fatal diseases and extra years of good health in old age. He starts on the Greek Island of Ikaria in the Aegean Sea, where residents live 10 years longer than the European average, with statistics for heart disease and cancer much lower than the European average and dementia virtually unheard of. He also visits a small community of Seventh-day Adventists in California.
