Description

Orpheline et sous la tutelle de son oncle et de sa tante qui désirent une partie de son héritage, Michiru est capable de savoir si une personne va bientôt mourir ou non. En effet, elle possède des yeux de shinigami et peut voir un éventuel cercle autour du cou des gens qui, selon la couleur, annonce une mort imminente. Effrayée par ce pouvoir, elle porte des lunettes qui neutralisent cette capacité. Sa vie est monotone jusqu'au jour où elle rencontre Shito et Chika, deux survivant miraculeux d’un terrible accident qui coûta la vie à une vingtaine de personnes. A l’aide de son don, elle découvrira que ces derniers sont en réalité morts lors de ce drame. Leur secret mis à jour, Chika et Shito lui révèlent qu’ils travaillent pour une organisation dont le but est d’éliminer des zombies. Ils décident d’utiliser son talent pour dénicher ces êtres qui s’attardent dans le monde des vivants afin de les libérer de leurs chaines. Hésitante, Michiru verra alors la mort en face, ce qui la forcera à faire un choix dont dépendra le reste de sa vie.

Shito and Chika investigate disappearances happening at their school. They ask Michiru for help but she is more worried about the ring she has seen around her neck while looking in the mirror. However when a friend of Michiru goes missing she decides to help find her friend.

Michiru having moved out off her relatives home, goes to work for the Zombie-Loan office. Chika, still claiming to just be using her because of her Shinigami eyes starts introducing her to the various people who work at the Zombie-Loan office.

Chika runs into an old acquaintance, Reiichirou Shiba. Shiba then helps Chika and Michiru out of a jam. Shiba follows them back to the Z-Loan office where problems occur. A new addition to the office is also introduced that will help with a upcoming job.
