Marguerite Volant

While Louis XV had just ceded New France to the English through the Treaty of Paris, the life of the intrepid Marguerite Volant, the youngest daughter of Lord Claude Volant, was turned upside down by a series of dramatic events. The English settled in the seigneury, his mother died, his brother-in-law was murdered and his father committed suicide. In a desperate gesture, Marguerite brandishes a pistol in the face of English captain James Elliot Chase, who is secretly in love with her.
