Bizzarra serie tv inglese ambientata nell' immaginaria cittadina di Royston Vasey (in realtà Hadfield, vicino Manchester) da qualche parte nel nord dell'Inghilterra. Tra gli abitanti: un tassista transessuale, una bigotta famiglia ossessionata dalla pulizia, un sacerdote apatico, uno zingaro che rapisce le donne per farle poi sue spose, e una coppia psicotica che gestisce "un negozio locale per gente locale". Tutti i personaggi principali, sia maschili che femminili, sono interpretati da Mark Gatiss, Steve Pemberton e Reece Shearsmith, mentre Jeremy Dyson ne firma soggetto e sceneggiatura assieme agli altri tre attori. La colonna sonora è di Joby Talbot.
