"Get Backers" è il nome della squadra di recupero formata da Amano Ginji e Midou Ban, due ragazzi dai poteri incredibili, entrambi con un tenebroso passato alle spalle. I due recuperano qualsiasi oggetto, animale, persona, di qualsiasi valore. Costantemente squattrinati, vivono praticamente per strada, o a volte a bordo della minuscola auto di Ban (quando questa non viene sequestrata per divieto di sosta). Ban e Ginji vengono coinvolti in situazioni incredibili e avventurose.
