Jo follows teams who work to save the nation's cats from harm, including 20 firefighters who try to help a kitten stuck in a storm drain. She also visits RSPCA Harmsworth in north London, where she meets a cat who survived falling more than four storeys. In Liverpool, RSPCA officer Paul gets an emergency call about a cat tied to a fence.

Inspector Anthony Pulfer goes to extreme lengths to save a stray tomcat from an inaccessible courtyard in a busy building site, and Jo visits RSPCA Putney, where she meets a kitten with a crushed paw and helps test a feral ginger cat for a potentially life-changing virus.
