Nao Suzuhara è maestra in una scuola elementare. Quando viene a conoscenza del fatto che una delle sue piccole allieve è vittima di abusi da parte della madre, il suo istinto materno prende il sopravvento e la spinge a prendersi cura della bambina. Le due partono dall'Hokkaido dirette a Tokyo e lungo il cammino ne affronteranno tante.
