Descrição
Tóquio, 1958. Em uma casa de mahjong, uma arriscada aposta está rolando. Um homem enfrenta membros do clã Ryuzaki, da Yakuza. Se perder, terá que pagar suas dívidas com seu seguro de vida - de fato, um jogo de vida ou morte. Por estar apostando sua própria existência, ele é obrigado a jogar na retranca. Quando o jogo chega a um momento importante, um misterioso garoto aparece. Seu nome é Akagi, de apenas 13 anos. O homem sente a intensa aura que o cerca, e pede a Akagi que o substitua na rodada seguinte. Mesmo sem saber nada de mahjong, seu talento e sua audácia o levam à vitória.
