Nesta nova série, o Foo Fighters comemora seu vigésimo aniversário documentando odisseia da gravação nas 8 cidades que produziu seu último e oitavo album de estúdio. Dave Grohl, o fundador do Foo Fighters dirige a série, que explora a herança musical e cultural de oito cidades: Chicago, Austin, Nashville, Los Angeles, Seattle, New Orleans, Washington D.C. e New York. A banda gravou em estúdios lendários de história e caracterização única de cada local. Uma música foi gravada em cada cidade e cada faixa apresenta lendas locais. Mesmo as letras foram desenvolvidas de forma experimental, sem precedentes. Grohl escreveu letras até o último dia de cada sessão, se inspirando nas experiencias, entrevistas e personalidades locais que participaram do processo.
