In the first episode, the American students confront some difficult truths in their debut week in a diverse south London school. But for one of the group the big question is whether they would rather be riding a bull or a bus? Over in rural Arkansas, the host families battle culture shock. Homesickness kicks in for some of the UK students. Later on they learn about Mena's racist past the hard way, which leaves the group questioning their physical safety.Ă‚Â

The two groups of teenagers continue to swap lives as they explore how similar and different life is in multicultural south London and Mena, Arkansas, in America's bible belt. The UK students are shocked to learn that in Mena almost everyone has a gun. While the Arkansas high school has a protocol in place should a school shooting occur, they're not so prepared for the levels of phone addiction displayed by the UK students.Ă‚Â In the UK, the US students head to the world's number one ranked seat of learning. It's a far cry from their home state, where some books are banned.

Love is in the air for the two groups of teenagers as they continue their exploration of life in multicultural south London versus Mena in rural America's bible belt. Relationships bring both joy and tears as the US students have to leave their new friends to return home, breaking hearts in the process. Over in the US, the students battle the pressure to find a date before the two groups finally come together for the biggest event of the school year.Ă‚Â
