Description

The three 45-minute films tell self-contained stories inspired by authentic crimes in the lives of young people. They approach from different perspectives the questions of how a person becomes a murderer, what has to happen in a person's life for a crime to occur, and whether anyone can become a murderer. In addition, they show whether and how modern technology can be used to identify potential murderers and predict crimes and perhaps even murders. In the series, the murders are not at the beginning, but at the end of each story. Without an investigator, the viewer experiences firsthand how a murder occurs.

Der Polizist

A well-tended garden, friendly neighbors and a small house in a new housing estate on the outskirts of Berlin. Police officer Joachim (Matthias Koeberlin) lives in this idyll with his wife Olivia (Jule Ronstedt) and son Carsten (Leopold Schill). But appearances are deceptive, for the marriage is at an end, and the relationship between Joachim and Olivia has long since grown cool and distant. A career woman from head to toe, Olivia rarely takes time out of work for her husband and their son. While she sees herself as the family's breadwinner, Olivia only has a weary smile for Joachim's career planning. In her eyes, his work as a police officer is nothing more than a small pastime, and his upcoming exam to become a chief inspector is not worth mentioning. Joachim looks for emotional support from her in vain.

Auslöschung

"No one is happier than we are": This is the credo of housewife and mother Anna Rückert (Sabine Vitua), who seems to lead the idyllic life of a picture-perfect family with her husband Holger (Ralph Herforth) and their two sons Torben (Johannes Franke) and Rainer (François Goeske). But not all family members feel the same way: The rebellious Torben and his strict father clash again and again. As a great advocate of virtues such as order, punctuality and manners, the teacher is always anxious to raise his son to be a responsible young adult. However, Torben's relationship with his best friend Bernd (Til Schindler), which seems more than just platonic to Holger, does not fit into his image of the perfect family.
