Terms of Service

By accessing or using Eris ("the Service"), operated at eris.tv, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information.
• Maintain the security of your password and account.
• Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

You must be at least 16 years old if located in the EU/EEA, or at least 13 years old elsewhere, to create an account. Each person may maintain only one account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Eris offers free and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions ("Guardian" plans) are processed through Stripe.

• Billing: Guardian subscriptions are billed monthly or annually depending on your chosen plan, or as a one-time payment for Eternal Guardian (lifetime) plans. Prices are displayed at the time of purchase and include applicable taxes.
• Auto-Renewal: Monthly and annual subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
• Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe billing portal accessible from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then.
• Refunds: Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact us within 14 days of a charge for consideration. Lifetime plans are non-refundable after 14 days.
• Price Changes: We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers will be notified before any price change takes effect on their account.

You may create content on the Service, including trivia packs, reviews, and ratings ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content. By posting User Content, you grant Eris a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and make available your User Content as part of the Service.

You represent and warrant that:

• You own or have the necessary rights to post your User Content.
• Your User Content does not infringe the intellectual property or other rights of any third party.
• Your User Content does not contain unlawful, harmful, or offensive material.

We reserve the right to remove User Content that violates these Terms without prior notice.

Eris aggregates publicly available television show data from third-party sources, including TVMaze and TheTVDB. Show descriptions, cast information, episode data, and related metadata are sourced from these services.

Eris does not claim ownership of this third-party content. All show names, images, and descriptions belong to their respective owners. Eris provides this information for informational and personal tracking purposes under fair use principles.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the Service without written permission.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users' accounts, or our infrastructure.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
• Distribute malware, spam, or any harmful or disruptive content.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
• Use the Service to compete with Eris or build a substantially similar service.

The Eris name, logo, visual design, user interface, and underlying code are owned by Eris and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on any part of the Service without our explicit written permission.

Third-party content (show data, images, descriptions) remains the property of its respective owners and is used under license or fair use principles.

By you: You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Account deletion removes your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.

By Eris: We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or for any other reason at our reasonable discretion. We will attempt to notify you before termination where practical. If your paid account is terminated by Eris without cause, you will receive a pro-rated refund for any remaining subscription period.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
• Show data, episode dates, or other information will be accurate or current.
• Any defects will be corrected in a timely manner.

Show data is sourced from third-party providers and may contain inaccuracies. Eris is not responsible for errors in third-party data.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Eris and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €100, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Poland and applicable European Union regulations. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the competent courts of Poland.

If you are a consumer resident of the EU, you also have the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence. EU consumers may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting a notice on the Service or sending an email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. If you disagree with the updated Terms, you may delete your account. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
