After the death of his wife, columnist Sjors Mulder decides to completely change the direction and move with his children from Amsterdam to the Zeeland village of Lekzand.His daughter Fenna and son Jurgen are not waiting for this sudden change at all.The only person who still understands Sjors' decision is his editor and good friend Juul.With her he discusses the strange ins and outs in Lekzand, where he gets to know striking types.When it turns out that Sjors describes his unvarnished opinion of the village in a column in a daily newspaper, he immediately comes to the center of attention of the villagers.
