The team attend a man who has slipped while crossing a stream and is left with a bone sticking out of his arm. In Wasdale, an emergency call has come in for a man with a badly broken leg on the Corridor Route to Scafell Pike. Darkness is closing in, and the first challenge is to locate the casualty. Leaving him on the hill in plummeting temperatures would be life-threatening.

But with the cold mountain water bringing him close to hypothermia, the team has little choice. On the other side of the Lakes, a local marathon brings its own challenges as temperatures soar towards 30 degrees.
