Description
TV cook and award-winning food writer, Donal Skehan immerses himself in the lives and kitchens of people of various faiths, to discover how the food we eat – and choose not to – expresses who we are and what we believe. In his pursuit of culinary enlightenment, Donal spends time with Hare Krishna, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim, Orthodox Christian and Sikh communities and reflects on the traditions and beliefs he wants to pass on to his own family as he explores notions of â€Âfood for the soul' from all angles.

Donal visits Hare Krishna Island in Lough Erne for a festival, where food offerings to the deities are central to the celebrations. Continuing his journey to understand the connections between food and faith, Donal joins the Jewish community who show him how to shop and cook while keeping Kosher. He'll also prepare a traditional Sabbath meal with them. Finally, Donal takes part in the Sikh Vaisakhi Parade where he gets close for a Sikh Martial Arts performance!Ă‚Â
