Profecias - Parte Um
Lion-O, que está constantemente sendo superado por seu irmão adotivo mais velho Tygra, sofre o ritual de ser escolhido pela Espada de Omens para ser o próximo rei de Thundera. Seu pai, Claudus, não sente que seu filho esteja pronto, sendo muito brando e facilmente distraído por vôos de fantasia como o mito da tecnologia antiga. Logo depois, o rei Claudus saúda o retorno de seu amigo Grune e faz uma celebração em honra dele e em memória do caído Panthro. Durante o evento, Lion-O defende um par de Lizards capturados e convence o pai a libertá-los.

Profecias - Parte Dois
No dia seguinte, Thundera é atacado por Lizards que adquiriram tecnologia recuperada. Logo descobrem que Grune se juntou aos Lizards, e que Panthro está sendo mantido como refém. Lion-O vem ajudar seu pai, permitindo que Claudus resgate Panthro. Mas Panthro assassina o rei revelando-se ser Mumm-Ra, um antigo inimigo dos Thundercats, disfarçado. Mumm-Ra quer a pedra na espada que ele alega ser sua. Lion-O, Tygra e Cheetara vão a uma busca para encontrar o Livro de Omens.

Seguindo os acontecimentos da noite anterior, Lion-O, Cheetara e Tygra fazem um funeral para o rei Claudus, com Lion-O segurando o símbolo dos Thundercats na estátua quebrada de seu pai. Determinado a se vingar de Mumm-Ra, Lion-O sai para o Mar de Areia com uma Cheetara relutante e Tygra no reboque. Na pirâmide de Mumm-Ra, é revelado que Jaga ainda está vivo, mas agora é um prisioneiro dentro de uma lanterna de magia negra, a qual Mumm-Ra diz que o levará para o Livro de Omens.

But all is not as it seems in this village as the brothers learn these tigers are cursed and Tygra may be the answer to saving them — but at the cost of his own life.
